When to Use Arimidex

During Aromatising Cycles (Primary Use):

• Typically started from beginning of cycle alongside aromatising compounds

Symptoms Indicating Need for AI:

• Breast tissue sensitivity or development (gynaecomastia)
• Excessive water retention and bloating
• High blood pressure
• Emotional instability or mood swings
• Loss of libido (paradoxically, high oestrogen reduces libido)
• Erectile dysfunction

Important: Arimidex is NOT used for PCT. SERMs (Clomid/Nolvadex) are preferred for PCT as they stimulate natural testosterone production whilst AIs can suppress it.

Dosage Guidelines

Prevention (Moderate Aromatising Cycles):

• Starting dose: 0.5mg every other day (EOD) - half a tablet
• Moderate cycles: 0.5mg daily or 1mg EOD
• Heavy aromatising cycles: 1mg daily

Treatment (Active Oestrogen Symptoms):

• Acute treatment: 1mg daily until symptoms subside
• Maintenance: Reduce to 0.5mg daily or EOD once controlled

Important Dosing Considerations:

• Start with lowest effective dose - oestrogen has beneficial effects
• Adjust based on symptoms and bloodwork (aim for oestradiol 20-30 pg/mL)
• Avoid crashing oestrogen (can cause joint pain, loss of libido, mood issues)
• Consider tapering towards end of cycle to avoid oestrogen rebound
